Privacy Policy

PDF Care is a browser-based PDF utility. The document contents you choose for active tools are processed on your device and are not intentionally uploaded to a PDF Care application server for conversion.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to PDF Care, available at pdf-care.com, including its PDF conversion, page-management, editing, form, metadata and related website features.

In this policy, “PDF Care,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the website operator. “You” and “your” refer to the person using the website.

2. Our browser-local processing model

PDF Care is designed as a technical document utility. Active tools use browser APIs and bundled PDF or image-processing libraries to convert, merge, split, crop, rotate, compress, extract, watermark, number, sign, edit metadata or otherwise process data selected by you.

When a tool is described as browser-side or local, the selected document contents are processed in browser memory on your current device. PDF Care does not intentionally send those document contents to a PDF Care application server as part of the conversion or editing operation.

PDF Care is not a file-hosting, cloud-storage, backup, publishing or document-review service. Generated results should be downloaded and kept by you.

3. Temporary previews and generated files

Tools may create temporary object URLs, previews, canvases, workers and generated download data inside your browser session. These are used so you can inspect or download a result and are not public file links.

Because PDF Care does not operate a server-side file library for these workflows, we generally cannot recover a file you processed or restore a result after you close or leave the tool.

4. Browser storage and preferences

PDF Care may store small settings on your device. For example, the current light or dark theme can be stored in local storage under pdf-care-theme, and your analytics choice can be stored under pdf_care_analytics_consent_v1.

These preference values do not contain the contents of your PDF documents.

5. Optional product analytics

PDF Care can use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits and high-level product workflow events, but only after you choose Allow analytics. The Google Analytics script is not loaded before that choice.

If analytics is enabled, PDF Care can measure coarse events such as opening a tool, starting or completing a workflow, cancelling, broad error categories, downloads, related-tool clicks and tool-search usage.

Product telemetry is intentionally limited. PDF Care does not intentionally send document names, document contents, pasted Base64 data, watermark text, signature text, PDF metadata values or tool-search query text as analytics event parameters.

You can change your choice later using Analytics settings in the footer.

6. Analytics cookies and consent

When analytics is allowed, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and measurement-specific _ga_* cookies. PDF Care keeps advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization denied in its Google consent configuration.

When analytics is declined, the Google Analytics script is not intentionally loaded. If you later revoke analytics, PDF Care disables the configured Google tag and attempts to remove its first-party Google Analytics cookies where available.

See the Cookie Policy for the browser-storage and consent details.

7. Server request logs

Like most websites, the web server or hosting infrastructure may record technical request information needed to deliver and secure the site. This can include an IP address, user agent, requested URL, response status and timestamp.

These request logs are separate from the contents of documents processed inside browser-based PDF tools.

8. Third-party libraries and services

PDF Care uses software libraries for PDF and ZIP processing and may use Google Analytics when you consent. Loading a website resource or third-party analytics script can expose normal network request information such as your IP address, browser information, page URL and request time to the relevant infrastructure or service provider.

Selecting a document for an active browser-side PDF Care workflow does not intentionally send that document to the publishers of the bundled PDF-processing libraries.

9. User content and responsibility

You are responsible for the PDFs, images, text, Base64 data, metadata and other material you choose to process and for having the necessary rights and permissions to use that material.

PDF Care does not claim ownership of your documents or generated results. You are also responsible for reviewing output before using, sharing, publishing or relying on it.

10. Sensitive and confidential documents

Local processing reduces the need to send document contents to an application server, but it cannot remove every security or privacy risk. Your browser, device, operating system, extensions and network environment still matter.

Use appropriate care before processing highly sensitive, regulated, confidential or legally restricted material, especially on shared or untrusted devices.

11. Data retention

PDF Care is not designed to retain selected PDF contents or generated conversion results on its application server. Browser-local data remains on your device until you clear it, reset the relevant setting, close the session or your browser removes it.

Technical server logs and consented analytics data can be retained according to operational, security, provider and legal requirements.

12. Your choices and privacy rights

You can decline optional analytics, change the analytics choice later, clear site data in your browser, or choose not to process a particular document. Depending on your location, applicable privacy law may also provide rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection regarding personal information we actually hold.

Because PDF Care does not require an account and does not maintain a server-side file library for these tools, we may not be able to identify a specific browser-local conversion or recover its contents.

13. Children and international use

PDF Care is a general-purpose utility and is not directed specifically to children. Users who are minors should use the website with appropriate permission and should not process private or sensitive documents without suitable guidance.

PDF Care can be accessed internationally. Hosting or consented analytics providers may process ordinary technical information in countries other than your own.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PDF Care changes its tools, analytics, browser-storage behavior, hosting or legal requirements. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
