Essential preferences
PDF Care uses local browser storage for choices needed to remember interface settings, including the theme and your analytics preference.
This Cookie Policy explains how PDF Care uses browser storage, essential preferences and optional Google Analytics while providing browser-based PDF tools.
Cookies are small values a website or service can store through your browser. Websites can also use local storage and similar browser technologies for preferences and application state. These technologies are separate from the PDF document contents you process inside PDF Care tools.
PDF Care uses local browser storage for choices needed to remember interface settings, including the theme and your analytics preference.
Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after you choose Allow analytics. It can then use first-party analytics cookies to measure visits and coarse workflow events.
Selected PDF contents are processed by active tools on the current device. Browser storage used for preferences does not intentionally contain your PDF document contents.
You can decline optional analytics, reopen analytics settings later, and clear cookies or site data using your browser controls at any time.
When analytics is allowed, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and measurement-specific _ga_* cookies. These can help distinguish browser visits and sessions for analytics reporting.
PDF Care configures analytics storage as denied until you grant consent. Advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalization remain denied in PDF Care's Google consent configuration.
The core PDF tools work without optional analytics. If analytics is available on the deployed site, you can choose Allow analytics or Essential only in the consent panel.
Analytics is not currently configured in this deployment, so no analytics preference panel is required.
When analytics is revoked, PDF Care disables the configured Google tag and attempts to remove its first-party _ga analytics cookies where available.
| Storage key | Purpose | Category |
|---|---|---|
pdf-care-theme | Remembers the selected light or dark interface theme. | Essential preference |
pdf_care_analytics_consent_v1 | Remembers whether optional analytics was allowed or declined. | Consent preference |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics first-party identifiers used only after analytics consent. | Optional analytics |
PDF Care can use Google Analytics 4 after consent. Loading the Google Analytics script can send standard network information to Google, such as your IP address, browser information, page URL and request time. PDF Care does not use Google Analytics to inspect the contents of PDFs processed in browser-side tools.
We may update this Cookie Policy if PDF Care changes its analytics, consent controls or browser-storage behavior. The latest version will remain available on this page.
